Freedom Starts Here
Condemnation is a prison you have created yourself. to free yourself from this prison you need to change the way you are believing. In Romans 8:1 we read “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” so why do you have condemnation? why do you try to walk in the spirit and only find that you walk in the flesh. maybe it is because it is your understanding of what walking in the spirit means. you need to understand that trying to live without sin in your life is not walking in the spirit, it is walking in the flesh. it is because you walk in the flesh is why you are condemned. in Galatians 3:2-3 we read “This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” What Paul is trying to teach them that they have fallen backwards into the old covenant. When they first believed in the spirit. they should of continued in the spirit. instead they fell back into the works of the law. or in other words, they are trying to fulfill the the law themselves. in Matthew 5:17 Jesus tells us “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” Jesus was and is the only person to ever fulfil the law. if we were able to fulfil the law? Jesus wouldn’t have needed to come and save us from the judgement of the law. What happened on the cross is the dividing point in determining where you walk. do you walk in the flesh? before the cross. or do you walk in the spirit? after the cross. but doesn’t God want us to walk a sinless life? yes! so shouldn’t we try to walk a sinless life? before i answer that, you need to understand what walking in the spirit means. Think of the law (the 10 commandments) as a gate into a kingdom. however the rules to get past that gate are imposable to meet and you are never allowed past the gate. Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law for us, by doing so, he became a door into the kingdom for us to pass through. now we who believe are now in the kingdom. the gate is behind us. are we perfect? no. do we need to be perfect to be in the kingdom? no. we wont be perfect until we are given a new body.
