This week in Bible study, a question got me thinking.
When you consider all that God is, all He has done, and all He will do—how will you praise Him today?
The definition of praise is the expression of approval or admiration for someone or something.
I don’t know how you view this, but I have always seen praise as an act of communication between me and God. It is my way of giving thanks for what He has done for me. Yet, this question made me rethink my understanding—or better yet, question whether I am truly praising God in the way He desires.
God knows how much I appreciate what He has done for me. He knows how grateful I am for all He has provided. And yes, God is absolutely worthy to be praised. But does He want me to simply repeat over and over how grateful I am?
Maybe praise is meant to be more. Maybe it’s not just a private conversation between God and me. Perhaps real praise is sharing with others—especially unbelievers—what God has done for me and for them. Maybe true praise is lifting God up before others so that they might come to believe in Him.
What do you think?
True praise is lifting God up before others, and first of all recognising Him as the Only One God above all gods, and not praising other gods, like some praise Jesus as their god.
True praise of God is giving all honour and respecting Him for all what He has done, haven given us all beauty of nature and having accepted the ransom offering of His only begotten son, Jesus Christ.
We should believe in the Divine Creator and in His sent one, who liberated us from the enslavement of the sin and curse of death. We should thank God for accepting that ransom offering of the Nazarene man.
